Big Money has returned to racing in typically smart form this time and has been included for a third-up appearance in 2016 Southern Cross Stakes nominations.

The stable star for Rod Northam through recent seasons, Big Money has posted a commendable nine wins and six minors through twenty-one career starts since first appearing on course competitively in 2013.

Capping a strong Brisbane Winter Carnival campaign seventh in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1350m), the Choisir gelding resumed this time for third in the Summer Sprint (1000m) before placing third behind Our Boy Malachi and Solicit in the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) most recently on January 30th.

Rich Enuff has been transferred to the care of Peter and Paul Snowden for his 2016 Autumn Carnival campaign and has been included in Southern Cross Stakes nominations.

Beginning his racing career under the guidance of Ken Keys, Rich Enuff was one of the 2014 Spring Carnival’s standout three-year-olds; winning all of the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m), Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) and Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) before finishing second in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

Unlucky to miss the 2015 Autumn Carnival through injury, the Written Tycoon entire returned in spring for second in the Group 3 TheShark.com.au Stakes (1100m) but failed to make much of an impact through his next three starts; returning to the paddock after failing to beat a single runner home in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) on October 23rd.

Having trialled well in the lead-up to his return, Rich Enuff could be primed to strike first-up in the Southern Cross Stakes.

Godolphin Australia are set to launch a multi-pronged attack on the 2015 Southern Cross Stakes after trainer John O’Shea included both Generalife and Vashka in nominations.

Running third in each of the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) and Stradbroke Handicap through a strong winter campaign, Generalife required a couple of runs to find form in spring but returned to the paddock after placing a close second in the Group 3 Kevin Heffernan Stakes (1300m) on November 14th.

Vashka resumed in spring for third in the Group 3 Show County Quality (1200m), and while luckless when seventh in the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) on September 12th, responded in the best way possible with consecutive wins in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes (1500m) and Group 3 Moonga Stakes (1400m).

The 2016 Southern Cross Stakes final field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
